Applications:

PML designed this cover for 2014 to 2018 Ram 2500 trucks with the AAM 11.5 or 11.8 inch ring gear rear differential. Trucks which may be able to use this cover include:

2014 to 2018 Ram 2500
2003 to 2018 Ram 3500, especially those with optional air bag leveling
2003 to 2013 Ram 2500
Some GM/Chevy Heavy Duty traucks

PML made this cover to clear sway bars, track bars, and pan hard bars and work with brake line brackets. This cover fits the same differentials as PML part number 10361, which has more capacity but does not work with brake brackets, sway bars, track bars, or pan hard bars.

Always check your vehicle to verify differential and clearance. Configurations vary. See notes below.

2019 and newer trucks: The cover for most 2019 and newer trucks is similar but NOT interchangeable. See PML Part Number 11176. Check OEM cover shape and Mopar gasket part number.

Ram 2500, 2003 to 2013: Most gas engine trucks and a some diesel engine trucks have an AAM 10.5 differential, which is PML Part Number 10302. Compare the shape of the OEM covers to determine which your truck has.

Trucks With Brackets, Sway Bars, and Pan Hard Bars: For trucks with brackets holding the brake line, sway bars or pan hard bars, such as 2014 to 2018 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks with optional air bag leveling, this cover has been installed on many similar vehicles with factory configurations. Verify your clearances.

Silverado or Sierra 2500HD 8.1 or diesel, 3500 or 3500HD with this AAM 11.5 rear: If you choose to use this cover, part number 10361, you have to bend the brake bracket located at the top of the cover. PML part number 9511 fits the same differential and accommodates the brake bracket.

There are several gear ratios for this differential, such as 3.42 and 3.73. The ratio does not change the ring gear size, 11.5 or 11.8 inches.

Installation Information

2014 to 2018 Ram 2500 trucks would probably need to drop the sway bar temporarily to install a PML cover. After replacing the stock cover with the PML cover, remember to bolt the sway bar back on.

Included with PML Differential Cover

PML includes a magnetic drain plug, fill and level check hole plugs and new mounting bolts with the differential.

Level Check and Fluid Fill Holes

Stock cover has a fill hole on the face. There is a line and the words "FLUID LEVEL" lower down, in middle of the cover. See first image below.

On the PML cover, there is a fill hole is near the top, about the 1 o'clock position. Another hole at about the 3 o'clock position can also be used to fill.

This PML differential cover has two possible level check holes on the side. The bottom of one hole is at the same location as the bottom of the stock cover oil fill hole. The bottom of the other hole is at the same location as the stock cover fluid level line. Follow your factory directions to fill with the correct amount of fluid.

Both the stock cover fluid level line and the fill hole are on the face of the stock cover. PML puts the holes on the side for easier access.

Note: Locations are approximate. Installer must verify fit and fluid capacity.

Optional Machining for Temperature Sending Unit

This cover has an undrilled boss below the level check holes. Optionally, PML drill and tap this boss with a 1/8 NPT hole for an aftermarket temperature sending unit.

Front Cover for 4WD Trucks

PML makes a front differential cover these Dodge Ram trucks. On our front covers, PML keeps the profile close that of the stock cover to avoid interference with the steering, frame or suspension.

2013 and newer Ram 3500 and 2014 and newer Ram 2500 trucks have a round front end stock cover with 12 bolts. Please see PML's 12 bolt front differential cover.

Pre 2013/2014 trucks have the AAM 9.25 14 bolt cover and would need PML's 14 bolt front differential cover.
